The BBC is one the most famous broadcasting companies in the world but it is involved in a far wider vision than is popularly known.......in this talk you will hear about the day-to-day work as well as the aims and ideals of this most special 'institution'!

Bronwen Gray-Specht was born in London, into a theatrical family and after leaving school she, too, studied drama. After several years as a professional actress in the theatre, she joined the BBC Television Drama Department as an Assistant Floor Manager and worked her way up until she became a Director. Having decided to go 'freelance', she directed drama productions for television and then made several documentary films both in Britain and South America before founding her own organization for international cultural exchange. She has also worked as a personal assistant, based in London and Paris, to the theatre director, Peter Brook, and in a similar position for the film director (of 'Bond' fame!), Terence Young.

Currently, she lives in Mülheim an der Ruhr, with her German husband (whom she met in Ecuador!) and runs 'Interkultur e.V.' which she initiated three years ago - the aims of this charity are based on furthering the understanding between people of different cultural backgrounds through artistic means, and to support education in the Arts.

Die Veranstaltung findet in der 5. Etage des RüKONTORs statt (Aufzug vorhanden), Rüttenscheider Str. 144/Eingang Gregorstraße, gegenüber dem Giradet-Haus. Parkmöglichkeiten auf den anliegenden Strassen, auf den Parkplätzen des Giradethauses und am Ende der Gregorstraße vorhanden. U-Bahn Verbindung von Essen-Hbf: Linien U11, 101 und 107, Station Martinstraße (3 Minuten Fußweg). Busse von der Haltestelle Giradet Haus (Linie 142) und von der Haltestelle Martinstraße (Linien 142, 160 und 161).
